Thought of the Day

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that counts. It's the life in your years." --Abraham Lincoln

Some may say that this quote totally contradicts itself, but if you read it really closely you will see the depth and meaning. When we die it doesn't matter how old we are what matters is how long our story lives behind us. Each of us have a book that we write in daily, whether good decisions or bad they get jotted down on each page, and in the end we are left with the question,"How long will my book stay around before it becomes old and torn and has to be taken off the shelf." The trick is that if a book is extrememly good then it never dies, it never comes off the shelf, it will just keeping going on and on for years. How good is your book? Is it worth picking up and reading one day? Remember there is always room for improvement.

Thought of the Day

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did."

I have found this quote quite helpful in the past few weeks. I have had to learn how to be out of my shell/comfort zone because it's something that I have never done and the more I learn to be out there I have had some many opportunities come my way. Sometimes we just have to let go to get the things we want. It may not always be the easiest thing to do but it will be rewarding in the end.

"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people. For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry. For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day. For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone. People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others."

Thought of the Day

"A woman's heart should be so lost in God that a man needs to seek him in order to find her. He can't be your knight in shining armor until he puts on the full armor of God."

I absolutely love this quote. It really puts dating into a new perspective. How can a man love you, if he doesn't know what true love is. We learn true love from God and what God has done for us. Hopes this makes you think a little bit.

Thought of the Day

I found this new joy
down deep inside
that I cannot hide
Some call it hyperness
Some call it being excited
Call it what you want
I call it God
He has placed it there
to replace the pain,
to feel a void, and
to repair the shame.
To God be the glory
because without Him
I'd be the girl in the corner
feeling the pain
and hiding with shame.

Psalms 28:7 NIV
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Thought of the Day

Wait for the man who pursues you; The one who will make an ordinary moment seem magical; The kind of man who brings out the best in you and makes you want to be a better woman; Wait for the man that will be your best friend; The one who will drop everything in order to be with you; Wait for the man who makes you smile like no other man can make you smile; The one who respects you and loves you for who you are and not who everyone else wants you to be; Wait for the man who wants to show you off to the world when you're in sweats and no make-up but loves when you get all dressed up for him; Wait for the man who praises God for you and encourages you in your daily walk; And most importanatly, wait for the man who is more in love with God than with you. ♥

Thought of the Day

"Laugh your heart out,
Dance in the rain,
Cherish the moment,
Ignore the pain,
Live, Laugh, Love,
Forgive, & Forget
Life's to short to be
Living with regrets."

I am not sure who wrote this, but it's a great quote for life in general. All these things are vital to survive everyday. Each part of this quote makes me think of many different areas in my life. I challenge you to read this quote again and think of how you can apply it to your life daily, but not only how you can apply it in your future but go back and think of how you have already applied it to your life. Sometimes we have to think of the past to keep moving to the future. We have to cherish the moments we have had as well as those moments to come. Life is to short to think of all our mistakes so live, laugh, love, forgive, and forget.

"Mama always said, "Life's like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get!"
--Forrest Gump

I know this quote is funny and priceless, but if you really think about it there is a big picture to this small quote. Have you ever gotten a heart full of chocolate on Valentines? Yeah, me too! When you pick a chocolate up you don't know what's going to be in the center or if it's going to be solid. In life we don't know our future or what's going to happen next. It's a total surprise just like biting into a piece of chocolate you randomly picked. We may not understand why things happen the way they do sometimes, but it's all in God's plans. We just have to sit back and let Him handle everything. It's God's plans, so leave it all in His hands.

Thought Of The Day

"My strength is made perfect in weakness."
--The Bible

From time to time we are faced with obstacles that we are unsure of; with every obstacle we don't get a manual that tells us how to overcame the new challenge. Not knowing what to do is ok; that has been a challenge for myself. Learning that I don't always have the anwsers to everything and that it's okay to have to learn something new. With every obstacle I have been faced with I have had to grow more and more; By grow I mean with my failure(weakness) I have gotten stronger. Sometimes failing at things make us more humble to learn what we are made of. I always say never have regrets, just lessons learned. Which is almost exactly what the quote of the day says. Learn from your mistakes don't continue to fail when you have the solutuion. Our manual for every obstacle is within ourselves and our failed attempts at the obstacle course.
