Always played the victim role
Because you were never there
Never talked to each other for an extended time
Because you never really cared
Constantly putting up a front in front of others
But behind closed doors, we barely know each other
I didn't ask to be brought into this world
Or for you to father me
It was between you and my mother
And yet, you still rarely acknowledge me

She sits alone by her window
Looking for someone that never appears
She sees nothing but a shadow
Of the man she wants to be here

She was told to go to sleep
But she knew that she couldn’t
She wanted to wait for him
Though she knew she shouldn’t

She grew more and more tired
As she watched time pass by
She wanted to know where he was,
But if she asked him he would lie
